About Judi & Her Artwork
Princess Di and Prince Charles and his thoroughbred
Here Judi shares a brief snapshot of this time.
My early passion as a child was horses and ponies and my passion to be with them and when I couldn’t have one I drew and painted them instead.
Since then my art and love of horses has taken me on so many incredible adventures including: Think I was going bt the name of Judi Mendelsohn.

- Riding King Hussein’s own Arab in the Palace grounds in Amman,
- Riding horseback through Petra,
- Riding the Wadi Rum on a camel as well,
- Driving four in hand as well as tandem of leading competitors,
- Cutting cattle in the US, on horseback,
- Showing Arabians in San Francisco,
- Driving in harness racing, high school dressage with the top training in Portugal,
- Riding the plains of Kenya,
- Trail riding in Yellowstone and coyote hunting at night at the top of a mountain in Canada,

- and visiting many fabulous equine studs and farms in the United States.
Local Artists Royal Success
Of course not forgetting home efforts- hunting, hunter trialling, dressage and endurance. Wow! Who could ask for more. Well it did lead to setting up Judal Arabians and for 12 years I was in heaven, learning as we went and achieving some wonderful successes in hand and under saddle with the help of some wonderful people. I still enjoy catching up with our horses in their afterlife with their new owners, their ongoing successes in both spheres and especially their breeding programmes. The obsession had to end: heartbreaking as it was, old age and the insecurity of living in france with no help and less than fluent in French we had to make a decision!
Those memories will never fade and I will remember each and every one of our beautiful horses and foals we bred.
I hack out on other people’s horses occasionally but it is never as satisfying as your own. I pain nearly every day – Arabian horse art is always my favourite – but I do try new subjects all the time – dogs, landscapes, figurative, weird stuff even and still enjoy trying to express my love and passion for beautiful things in life, as they are all around us!

FRONT COVER OF WOMAN'S WEEKLY IN JULY 1981
I look back and see again so many pictures of my past work on the internet, did I paint that? – and I remember every brush stroke and feel quite satisfied with what I have managed to achieve! Plus three wonderful, talented children, 9 grandchildren and two great grandsons despite all the other stuff that interferes with one's life.
